A season is a period of the year that is distinguished by special climatic conditions.

Seasons have an enormous influence on vegetation and plant growth. Winter typically has cold weather, little daylight, and limited plant growth. In spring, plants sprout, tree leaves unfurl, and flowers blossom. Summer is the warmest season of the year and has the most daylight, so plants grow quickly. In autumn, temperatures drop, and many trees lose their leaves.

Factors influencing Seasons:

Earth’s Axis- Earth sits at a tilt of 22.5 degrees, also known as an axis. Earth's tilt influences the seasons as Earth travels in orbit around the sun.

Sunlight- The Earth absorbs maximum heat when the sun is directly overhead. When it is positioned lower in the sky, Earth absorbs less heat.

Elevation- Even during the summer, some areas may remain cold due to elevation. Higher elevations are typically colder.

Wind Patterns- As the sun's intensity decreases during the winter months, cold air begins to accumulate in the Northern Hemisphere. In contrast, during the summer months, the Northern Hemisphere is heated by warm air and sunlight. Wind patterns change with seasons, moving north or south.

Global Warming- Over time, Earth goes through warming and cooling trends. Due to human activities, there is also a warming trend affecting the balance of the seasons.
