Absolute zero is the lowest temperature possible. At this temperature, there is no motion or heat. It occurs at 0 Kelvin, or -273.15 degrees Celsius, or at -460 degrees Fahrenheit.

Absolute zero is the point at which the fundamental particles of nature have minimal vibrational motion.

While scientists could not fully achieve a state of “zero” heat energy in a substance, significant advancements have been made in achieving temperatures ever closer to absolute zero (where matter exhibits odd quantum effects).
