IPL 2022 Mega Auction

The IPL auction commenced recently. Hugh Edmeads was the auctioneer. He is a world-renowned auctioneer and hass been present at the 90th Birthday Gala of Nelson Mandela. He also has the records of selling various ancient antiques belonging to the Royal Family of Great Britain. Unfortunately, he collapsed due to postural hypertension, and was replaced by Charu Sharma on the first day, but returned on the second day, for the final round of auctioneering.

In the 2022 Mega Auction, Ishan Kishan bagged the highest price of 15.25 Crores by the Mumbai Indians. Avesh Khan became the most expensive uncapped IPL player after bagging a deal of 10 Crores by Lucknow Super Giants.

There were many surprising names who went unsold in this auction including Suresh Raina, Mr. IPL, who is fourth all time highest run getter of the league and boasts a better strike than all the players above him in the list. The highest ranked all rounder from Bangladesh Shakib Al Hasan, and the Australian run machine Steve Smith were also unable to bag a deal with any of the IPL teams.
